The safe area (or safe zone) on your channel banner is the area where you should place all the key information (logo, channel name, tagline) so that it’s visible with all screen sizes. If you want to use a larger image, you can always try making it smaller or converting the PNG file into a JPG file. Of course the higher the quality of the image the better, so long as the file size is under 6 MB (which is quite generous, so most high-quality images should fit into that range). That’s why the best size for Youtube banner images is 2560 x 1440 pixels since this is suitable for larger images on TV displays. Making your banner image at least the minimum dimension of 2048 x 1158 pixels will prevent it from stretching out on TV displays, where it shows up as a background image. It would be bad marketing practice to have viewers see a non-fitting image when they first discover your channel otherwise. This allows assessment of pelvic brim integrity, AP displacement of the hemipelvis, internal or external rotation of the hemipelvis, and anterior displacement of the sacrum. Inlet views are obtained with the patient supine and the x-ray tube positioned at the patient’s head, angled 45 degrees toward the patient’s feet. These include oblique (Judet) views for characterization of acetabular fractures ( Figure 13-2 ), and inlet and outlet views for characterization of pelvic ring fractures ( Figure 13-3 ). Additional plain films can be obtained when injuries are seen on the AP image or if occult injuries are suspected with a normal AP view. This image is obtained with the patient supine and the x-ray beam oriented 90 degrees to the patient’s long axis, passing through the patient from anterior to posterior. The routine initial view of the pelvis is the anterior–posterior (AP) x-ray ( Figure 13-1 ). Pelvic X-ray and Computed Tomography Techniques Angiography (discussed in detail in Chapter 16 ) was performed in 4.7% of patients with pelvic injuries, and therapeutic embolization was performed in 2.3%, or half of those undergoing angiography. Overall, 16.6% of pelvic fracture patients required more than 2 L of blood in transfusion. When severe pelvic injury was the only significant injury, more than 50% received transfusion, with a mean of 2.7 L. In severe pelvic fracture patients, 60.6% received transfusion, with a mean of more than 3.5 L. In one study, 38.5% of pelvic fracture patients received blood transfusion, with a mean transfusion of nearly 1 L. This low mortality is achieved when patients are treated at major trauma centers and receive aggressive therapy for pelvic injuries, including blood transfusion, orthopedic fixation, and angiographic embolization of pelvic vascular injuries. The low mortality directly attributed to pelvic injuries should not suggest that these injuries themselves are unimportant. When pelvic injuries are noted on imaging studies, careful attention should be given to determining the presence of other injuries. These are high-energy injuries that frequently coexist with severe injuries to the head, chest, abdomen, spine, and extremities. However, only about 0.8% of deaths are directly attributed to pelvic injuries. Mortality in patients with pelvic fractures is high-13.5% in adults in one large study. Aortic rupture was seven times more common in patients with pelvic fracture than in those without, although still rare (1.4%, compared with 0.2%). In severe pelvic fractures (defined by an Abbreviated Injury Scale score ≥4), intrabdominal injuries rose in frequency to 30.7% of patients, and the bladder and urethra were most commonly injured, in 14.6% of patients. In patients with pelvic fractures, 16.5% had associated abdominal injuries, including liver (6.1%), bladder and urethra (5.8%), spleen (5.2%), diaphragm (2.1%), and small bowel (2%). How Common Are Pelvic Injuries? What Injuries Are Associated With Pelvic Trauma?Īn 8-year retrospective review of the trauma registry at the Los Angeles County and University of Southern California trauma center found that 9.3% of 16,630 adult admissions sustained some type of pelvic fracture. What is the role of interventional radiology and angiographic embolization? What special imaging tests should be considered for pelvic fractures? What associated injuries must be suspected and evaluated when pelvic fractures are detected? If CT is used in the setting of major trauma, why is MRI called upon for minor mechanisms of injury? Why is MRI recommended for some injuries and CT for others? If CT is planned for evaluation of other abdominal and pelvic soft-tissue injuries, is x-ray needed? If so, in which patients? When pelvic x-ray is normal, who needs CT? How should x-ray and CT of the pelvis be interpreted? What are the techniques for pelvic x-ray and CT? What injuries are associated with pelvic trauma? Along the way, we consider a number of critical clinical questions: Because fractures of the proximal femur are often clinically indistinguishable from fractures of the pelvis, we illustrate these injuries here, with more discussion in the chapters on extremity injuries ( Chapter 14 ) and musculoskeletal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI, Chapter 15 ). We also discuss high-risk pelvic bony injuries associated with soft-tissue and vascular injuries-which are examined in detail in related chapters on genitourinary imaging ( Chapter 12 ), abdominal trauma ( Chapter 10 ), and interventional radiology ( Chapter 16 ). In this chapter, we review a systematic approach to interpretation of the standard pelvis x-ray, correlating abnormalities with computed tomography (CT) findings. Imaging of the pelvis can be required following minor or major trauma and for nontraumatic painful conditions. Use an informative video to replace an article on the latest product update or company news. Replace a text announcement with a video one But here are a few suggestions to help you get started: 1. Should your brand lean into informative, educational content? Promotional videos and teasers? Pure entertainment? The possibilities are endless. Of course, it’s one thing to hear the benefits of adding video to your email marketing strategy… and it’s another to actually get out there and do it. Videos actually prompt 12 times more social shares than text and images (and this helps your SEO ranking, too!). If you promote a compelling video in your email, you’ve created a great incentive for your readers to share with their own network. Video content is highly shareable on social So it’s no surprise, 94% of marketers agree user understanding of their product improved after viewing a video. It’s like speaking to your customer face-to-face. Whatever you’re selling or communicating, you’ve got a message to deliver - and video is the most direct form of communication. Videos contribute to customer understanding In fact, according to VidYard, those who use video enjoy 41% more search traffic than those who don’t use video in their email marketing. So in a roundabout way, driving more visitors to your site from email also improves your searchability. When your site traffic improves, your SEO improves. Just having a video thumbnail in your email has been shown to increase click-through rates by 50%. The promise of video prompts clicks from those who might have ignored a text or image link. Videos in email increase click-through rates (Bonus benefit: This can lower the cost per lead by 19% !) More than half of consumers have been convinced to make a purchase by a video. Here are a few more compelling reasons to consider incorporating videos into your email marketing strategy: Videos in email boost conversion rates Even having the word “video” in your email subject line can increase open rate by six percent. People are far more likely to interact with videos than text. Videos breed engagement - there’s no doubt about that. And if you still need convincing, these next five benefits of video email marketing should do the trick. Read on for workarounds, solutions, and video in email best practices. So why did I open this article by saying video in email is a good idea? Because even though embedding video in email isn’t a great idea, there are still ways for email marketers to tap into the compelling power of video. And then there’s the legality of it all: If you’re planning to share a video you don’t own, self-hosting is rarely a viable option without the copyright holder’s permission. This method can also (frustratingly!) lead to bloated email sizes and significant hosting costs, especially if you’re distributing to a large list. But long story short, embedding a video in an email isn’t exactly a user-friendly process. You can find the full breakdown of the process over on the Litmus blog. You also need to be able to code your email in HTML, and there are numerous client-specific fallbacks to work around. Instead, you need to host the video on your own content distribution network (CDN) and serve it to subscribers. Unlike a website, you can’t embed video from sites like Youtube, Vimeo, Wistia, or Facebook directly into your emails. Embedding video into an email is oddly complicated. Plus, many spam filters and antivirus programs still flag emails with embedded video, resulting in lower deliverability.Īnd these aren’t the only technical issues email marketers face. But major email clients like Gmail and Yahoo don’t support video. The fact is, video isn’t well supported in email at this moment in time.Īpple mail, Thunderbird, and Outlook provide support (with limitations, in some instances). …so why is video still so uncommon in email campaigns? In a lot of ways, video marketing is like a superpower: In ecommerce, product videos have been shown to increase purchases by up to 144%, and in promotional emails, video boosts open rates by 19% and click-through rates by 65%. But first, let’s address the elephant in the room… Can You Embed a Video in an Email? In this article, I’ll go over best practices and examples to make sure you’re sending video in email right. That said, there are some do’s and don’ts to bear in mind before you give it a whirl. According to Litmus, 91% of people prefer interactive content over static, text-based media. Is video in email a good idea? The short answer is yes!Īdding interactivity with a video can be a powerful approach. And because it uses Infrared rather than Bluetooth, you’ll need line of sight to the Apple TV to use it. The remote uses a cell battery rather than charging via Lightning. Unlike the Siri Remote, you do not get volume control, a TV button, or Siri microphone input. The Apple Remote also includes a MENU button to go back and a Play/Pause toggle. Use the arrow keys in the ring to move around and then click the center button to select. This remote relies on physical buttons so there’s no trackpad frustration possible. Apple Infrared RemoteĪ remote option that is often overlooked is the ‘old’ Apple TV Remote, which Apple still sells for only $19. Outside of text input, you can use your voice to launch apps, check the weather, and search for something to watch using Universal Search. For password entry, you can speak a single character at a time. Rather than fight with the on-screen keyboard, just hold down the microphone button and say what you want to type. Go to Settings -> Remotes & Devices -> Touch Surface Tracking to change between Slow, Medium, and Fast modes which may make it easier for you to precisely navigate around the tvOS interface.Īlso, the dictation capabilities of the Apple TV remote are decent. You can also adjust the sensitivity of the remote’s trackpad in Settings. You can also scroll quickly - more than just swiping - by running your finger up and down the right edge of the trackpad.) (In most apps, you can skip back or forward fifteen seconds by clicking at the far-left or far-right of the trackpad while watching a video. If you don’t like the swiping, just tap, tap, tap, click. This mimics a D-Pad on a typical TV remote. Typically, you swipe on the trackpad to move between items and then click to select.įor more fine-grained control, you can tap (not click) the extreme top, left, bottom, and right edges to move one item in that direction. The Siri remote has four buttons and a trackpad. If you hate the Siri Remote because you find it hard to select things, these tips may help. So if you don’t like the Siri Remote, one of these options might make you happy. Whether you like it or hate it, what you might not know is there are actually many different ways to control the Apple TV. The Apple TV and Apple TV 4K use a trackpad-centric input method that inspires joy and causes frustration alike. The modern Apple TV features a very controversial remote.
